Takuna
Takuna is an extract from the bark of Cecropia strigosa, which belongs to the Urticaceae family. It is also known as Cecropia bicolor, Cecropia multiflora, Cecropia rugosa, Ambaiba bicolor, and Ambaiba strigosa, though Latin binomials other than Cecropia strigosa are considered obsolete. The natural habitat ranges from the Amazonian region to the Andes, and in Peru, it is commonly known as Tacona blanco. The traditional ethnobotanical use of C. strigosa is for gastrointestinal support.* Many other species of Cecropia have a strong history of ethnobotanical use.
